Entry Requirements

  • Those permitted to enter China will be required to submit a health declaration, and provide negative PCR results, no older than 48 hours before travel plus an antibody test, no older than 48 hours before travel.
  • Anyone arriving will undergo health screening in the airport.
  • Travelers leaving high-risk provinces might be required to present negative test results when traveling domestically.
  • Arrivals must apply for a green health code with the "HS" mark or a certified health declaration form from the Chinese consulate in their home country before traveling to China.

China is gradually opening up for business travel only, while domestic restrictions vary and change frequently with changes in infection numbers.

Can I Travel to China?

  • It is possible to travel to China as newly qualified entrants. It depends on vaccination status, after applying for a visa and providing negative test results.
  • Most travelers are still not allowed to enter or transit through China, unless they have a visa issued after March 28th, 2020.
  • Flights from several high-risk countries are banned.
  • Travel from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe is banned.

Do I need to go into quarantine when arriving to China?

  • All international arrivals are required to enter a 14 days quarantine in designated locations.

Are Covid-19 tests required to travel to China?

  • Those permitted to enter China will be required to submit a health declaration, and provide negative PCR results, no older than 48 hours before travel plus an antibody test, no older than 48 hours before travel.
  • Anyone arriving will undergo health screening in the airport.
  • Travelers leaving high-risk provinces might be required to present negative test results when traveling domestically.

Is public transportation open in China?

Public transportation in most of China is operating and domestic flights resumed, under health measurements. Trave to and from some high-risk areas is banned.

Are restaurants and bars open in China?

  • Some restaurants have begun reopening their dining rooms, in limited capacity and for limited hours.
  • Regulations vary between provinces.
  • In high-risk areas, restaurants and bars are closed.

Are businesses and attractions open in China?

  • Some of China's main tourist attractions have re-opened under social distancing rules and capacity limitations. It is recommended to check each attraction individually in advance.
  • In high-risk areas, non-essential businesses and attractions are closed, and leaving the house is permitted for essential reasons only.
  • Your travel history will be recorded and used to enter some public facilities.
